Have you cleaned up today?

Australia celebrated ‘Clean up Australia Day’ today. No lighting up the Barbie or relaxing by the pool. Not even wading into the surf or spine bashing beneath a tall shady tree! So, what is this celebration all about? How do we celebrate as a Nation?

Take a look at this site and see for your self. All around our Nation today people picked up rubbish and junk around their neighborhoods, transferring it all to garbage processing plants.

Amazingly, 1 million people today in Australia moved out of their comfort zones, collecting and disposing of many thousands of tons of rubbish and litter. Together, we can all make a difference to our environment. Individually, we can continue this good work by being responsible with how we dispose of all our rubbish, at home and also when we are out and about. This may mean making some behavioral changes when we handle disposable items. Even our gardens, streets, roadways and public parks will be so much nicer when collectively we remember to responsibly deal with our litter.
