Dystonia and those 'bitter sweet' experiences of life.

Travelling over 1,600 kilometres to the nearest treatment centre can be quite an effort for those of us with dystonia living in Far North Queensland. Enjoying a brief holiday following treatment is a nice way to get through those anxiety laden injection days!

Just to be different, a train journey is the chosen mode of transport this time. Cairns to Brisbane on the tilt train for 25 hours gives plenty of time for watching movies, listening to book readings or taking in the scenery. Returning on the Sunlander takes 31 hours so a nice little cabin with cozy bunk beds makes the journey more comfortable. Brisbane is a great place to visit. However, home is a refuge from a world of busy activity and strange city sounds. Memories keep the dream alive!

Bells ringing, sirens howling, horns honking and people everywhere do not detract from the enjoying experiences available right in the heart of Brisbane City. Some extra packages of delight are trips to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and whale watching on Brisbane's Moreton Bay.

Where ever you are, I hope your day is full of loving memories while you enjoy the comforts of home. Do take some time to follow the highlighted links in this article. There are some magical places just waiting for you.
