As that old saying goes, is this the 'calm before the storm'?
The haunting, piercing sound of curlews screeching through the dense humid night is like an omen.
Tropical cyclone Guba is expected to remain slow moving, drifting to the south for the next 2 days. As of 10pm Thursday 15th November 2007, Guba was 365 kilometres northeast of Lockhart River.
Hopefully, Guba will move away from the coast rather then intensify and cross the coast. That remains to be seen. Meanwhile, being prepared is the safest action to take.
